DIY Protection with Feynlab

Feynlab’s DIY products follow a regimen: Preparation, Protection, Maintenance. First Prepare the paint by washing with Pure Wash, followed by Panel Prep to remove any residual oil or contaminants. Then Protect your Tesla using Ceramic Lite - the easiest coating to apply. Then Maintain the coating with Pure Wash, and if you want that extra touch of protection, follow it up with Ceramic Spray Sealant every couple of months. Get a free quote.

Tesla shuts down Model S and X production lines for 18 days, what for?

Maybe it’s just to focus all the efforts on the Model 3 and Model Y for the end-of-the-year push, but some folks believe it’s a hint that Tesla is preparing to re-tool the production lines for a refresh of the Model S and Model X. What do you think?

Fremont made 17 Model Ys with 4680 Tech

According to Twitter user @bburnworth, Tesla has been making the 4680 cells for many months and now they are ramping up prototype production of Model Ys with 4680 Tech. This prototyping will allow Tesla to refine the equipment and methods to hit the ground running fast in Berlin in early 2021!

New 2021 Model 3 came with a flash drive pre-installed in the glovebox

It was about time that Tesla allowed new owners to store Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos without having to purchase any accessories. I really hope that, in the future, Tesla offers a paid plan to store and access videos in the cloud!

Tesla is moving its lease experience to the Tesla Account. According to an email Tesla sent to owners, the change will be happening early in 2021 and it will also include new management options such as extending or transferring the lease, purchasing your car, selling to non-Tesla dealers, reporting a total loss and requesting an early lease termination.

Software updates

Autopilot assist activated

Last week, @greentheonly found a huge list of FSD settings that are not available for drivers to configure. This week, he shows us the ‘Augmented Reality’ view- an overlay layer on top of what Autopilot sees. Check out the cool pictures and videos.

2020.48.10 comes with an improved notifications menu

Look at the improved ‘floating’ notifications menu under ‘Service’- very cool, since it still allows you to use the rest of the screen while open. It can also be accessed when you receive an alert at the top of the touchscreen (red triangle). And finally, there’s also a new fade in/out animation.

ABRP lets you enter negative charge rates to simulate camp mode

A great hack for A Better Route Planner. If you like using camp mode or want to factor in the phantom drain, Reddit user u/xdert/ shared this trick that he discovered while playing with the app to see how long he could spend the night on the route in camp mode. He tried to set a waypoint on a parking lot, selected ‘charge here’, and put in -1kw during 8 hours… and it worked!
