Issue 135 - The best videos of the FSD beta

Model Y & Model 3

Model Y reservation holders in Europe might start taking deliveries earlier than expected

According to Teslarati, Tesla could already start deliveries of the Model Y made in Berlin early in 2021. This would be quite a surprise, since the plan was to begin producing the Model Y in Germany in July 2021 after Giga Berlin’s production lines were installed.

Model Y now comes with double pane windows

Right when Tesla announced that “better soundproofing” was coming to the Model 3, it seems like they have also started delivering Model Ys with double pane windows. Shout out to Tesla Raj for sharing the pics!

Model 3 updates will include a heated radar

In the last couple of weeks, we’ve shared a lot of stuff related to the Model 3 refresh coming in 2021. The latest discoveries shared by @greentheonly point out something we had not seen yet, a heated radar that would have an impact on FSD. The other hidden gem seems to be a heated steering wheel, a very cool feature for folks living in cold areas. As usual, we still don’t know when or how these features will become available, but we know the software is getting ready for the car to have them!

Autopilot & FSD

Early FSD drives 2020.40.8.11

By the time you read this you’ll probably have watched a bunch of FSD videos but here are my favorite ones so far (apart from the ones I already shared last week):

FSD may be offered as a monthly subscription

It’s not the first time that we hear about FSD potentially being offered as a monthly subscription (vs. paying for it before or after purchasing the vehicle). Just a few days ago, Elon confirmed on Twitter that a FSD “monthly rental” will be available sometime next year.

New Tesla patent for 'Generating ground truth for machine learning from time series elements'

Tesla strives to achieve Level 5 of autonomy, therefore it is very important to correctly develop all the processes and methods that, as a result, will help the company achieve its goal. This new patent discloses a machine learning training technique for generating highly accurate machine learning results and it gets Tesla one step closer to their goal.
