Issue 143 - All I want for Christmas is you (and FSD)

FSD Beta

FSD Beta on Lombard street (Part 2)

One month and five updates later, FSD Beta handles Lombard street- the windiest street in San Francisco- way better than it did the first time Tesla Raj drove his Model 3 down the San Francisco landmark. Watch FSD Beta go from top to bottom of Lombard St. without interventions and without speed or turn issues! Definitely a lot of progress in such a short period of time.

FSD subscription coming early 2021

We don’t know how it will look like and how much it will cost, but we do know that Tesla is planning on making FSD available through a subscription in early 2021. It has now been confirmed by Elon Musk on Twitter.

FSD Beta ducking into open parking spaces to allow opposing traffic to go by

FSD Beta is getting better and better. Check out this video by @kimpaquette of her Model 3 ducking into open parking spaces to allow opposing traffic to go by. Yay, Joules 👏

Batteries & Charging

Tesla's battery degradation

We like this topic- who doesn’t- and it’s not the first time that we share battery degradation data collected from Tesla vehicles. As you’ve probably realized by this point if you own one, Teslas show little battery degradation, even after high usage, and here’s a chart comparing battery degradation over time.

Tesla Superchargers are being made accessible to other electric cars

Tesla’s Supercharging network is not only beneficial to Tesla but also to other EVs. A true fact, although not so well known by most, is that Superchargers and in fact being made accessible to other electric vehicles.

Accessories & Protection

New rear liftgate sunshade for the Model Y

Tesla has added a rear liftgate sunshade for the Model Y. It is constructed of lightweight fabric with a collapsible rigid frame so you can fit it in the included pouch as well as Tesla says rearward visibility is not compromised but blocks 2/3 of solar thermal load. I wonder if this would be needed for the folks in the 3rd row of the Y.

Wrapping a Model Y with Feynlab's PPF & Vinyl V2

In this video, Wicked Auto Detailing wraps a fresh Tesla Model Y with Feynlab’s PPF & Vinyl, Version 2. Easier to install than the previous version and the result looks amazing. Very informative video as well. Check it out!

How much does it cost to wrap a car? Vinyl or Clear Bra?

An informative video discussing different types of wraps and costs, if you’re thinking about wrapping your Tesla, hopefully, this helps you figure out what type of wrapping you want and how much it’s going to cost. Thanks @dburkland for sharing!

Tips & Tricks

Trick to rewind and fast forward in YouTube

Video streaming apps (YouTube, Netflix) can be slow sometimes when responding to touch, and for that, Reddit user u/Kimorin/ has shared the following trick: you can use the left wheel to rewind and fast forward instead. Nice one!

About the last production Roadster

This is a series of two videos about the Tesla Roadster with VIN 1459, the last production Roadster built (after that there were only 5 more built, the ‘Final Five’). The video explains what happens when the Roadster stops being able to charge (called a bricked Roadster), difficulties transporting a locked car, and the importance of quick response to assure a recovery is possible.
