Greentheonly reported that someone discovered that Autopilot is doing tire thread estimation, probably to understand if the weather conditions, speed, etc. are safe with the current state of the tires.
According to Elon, given the fundamental changes in the FSD Beta that are currently underway, there isn’t much point in more testing of the 8.X version, he expects to deliver v9 in April and add the ‘Download FSD Beta’ button then.

Marc Benton shared that the same radio that he was listening to in his Model 3 was saved when driving his wife’s Y. If this is Tesla linking profiles to accounts maybe they do it based on the phone key paired, maybe in a different way? I have to say this is the first time I’ve heard about this, and it’s great that Tesla is starting some synchronization between cars.
Tesla owners may soon be able to tour Giga Shangai. We loved the tour in Fremont a few years ago, I hope things go back to normal and I can go back to see how it has changed in the last two years!
I have to admin that I like it very much. I wonder how Tesla is going to adapt this (if at all) for the 3 and Y given that they need to leave room for the car visualization there.
A Tesla owner ran into a Plaid Model S at the Kettleman City and was able to sit inside and snap some pictures of the UI. In the pictures, we can see a total redesign of the software (V11 UI?) as well as some other details, for instance, the inside acceleration mode or the ability to enable and disable smart shift. In the UI, we can also find a ‘Drag Strip Mode’, can you imagine this beast in the drag strip?
Well, almost. If you have MCU1 with AP2 or AP2.5, the MCU2 retrofit just went up tp $2,000 vs. the $1,500 that cost before (or if your car has AP3). There is a good reason for this, several people that I know got AP3 when they got the retrofit even if they wouldn’t bought FSD.
Elon mentioned this many months ago and just confirmed it in another tweet: the Plaid Model S will come with seven seats. Can you imagine a seven seater doing a 0-60 in under two seconds? In Elon’s words “The new Plaid S is our best car ever”.
Tesla’s are so safe that I have a hard time imagining my family in any other car. After all, Tesla is well known for building their vehicles around safety, not an overall five star rating but five stars in each category. They just published a site to explain the world how they think about it, cool stuff!
Feynlab’s DIY products follow a regimen: Preparation, Protection, Maintenance. First Prepare the paint by washing with Pure Wash, followed by Panel Prep to remove any residual oil or contaminants. Then Protect your Tesla using Ceramic Lite - the easiest coating to apply. Then Maintain the coating with Pure Wash, and if you want that extra touch of protection, follow it up with Ceramic Spray Sealant every couple of months. Get a free quote
As Tesla fan I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
