Definitely feel the boost with the 'acceleration upgrade'

Folks who have already purchased the ‘acceleration upgrade’ seem to be happy with it. ‘Chill’ and ‘Standard’ modes are now ‘Chill’ and ‘Sport’. A few owners are saying they wish they’d be an option in the middle (like chill, standard, sport) since ‘Chill’ is just too slow.

New Tesla owner orientation guide (PDF)

We have been wanting to put this guide together since we helped with the deliveries in Q3. We thought that it would be super awesome to be able to hand these to new owners at the delivery hub. Unfortunately, I didn’t think about it with enough time to have it ready by then, but we made sure we had it for the rush time in Q4. Feedback always welcome πŸ™‚

Upgrades to MCU1 & AP2 will be available in a few months

According to Elon “There are many diff versions of mcu & autopilot computer & supporting hardware. Cars last so much longer than phones!” I hope we can get our AP retrofit (MCU1 + HW2.5 here πŸ‘‹) in the next month or two. Since 2019.40.50.1, I feel like I’m starting to miss out on too much cool stuff.

Tesla partners with EVgo to deploy Tesla connectors on their nationwide charging network

It’s always great news to hear that Tesla cars will be able to charge in more and more places. This time Tesla and EVgo have partnered to start including Tesla connectors at EVgo charging stations. Honestly, this would be even better if they start by adding them to chargers where Tesla needs them the most because of the lack of Superchargers, but anywhere is good!

Tesla on Tour 2019 t-shirt

A couple of weeks ago we shared with all of you a t-shirt we’ve designed for the end of the year. You still have time to grab one, and we’ve made two changes:

  • We’re happy to share that it can be shipped anywhere in the world
  • We’ve changed the design a bit to align it with the style of the Tesla Owners clubs (thank you, William!)

What the acronym?

As Tesla fan I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.

  • HW2.5 - Hardware 2.5. Carried by cars manufactured between August 2017 and Hardware 3 (see next point).
  • HW3 - Hardware 3. Carried by Tesla cars manufactured in/after February 2019 for Model S / Model X, and in/after April 2019 for Model 3.
  • SR - Standard Range
  • MCU1 - Media Control Unit version 1. It has an NVIDIA Tegra-3 chip. All Model S and Model X built before the end of March 2018 have this version. (All Model 3 have MCU 2).

Because we πŸ’š Tesla

Our Model S rocks so much that we designed some sweet t-shirts to go with it. Check out all of our designs at https://shop.spreadshirt.com/tesletter
