Issue 211 - Model Y Standard Range

Software Updates

2022.12.1 release notes

2022.12.1 is bringing additional button bar customizations. In this new firmware, you can add vehicle controls such as defrost, windshield wipers, and seat heaters to the bottom bar.

Cybertruck

Cybertruck rear glass drops

Our friends from the Kilowatts can confirm that the rear glass of the Cybertruck drops, and apparently, the midgate will be able to fold, making the bed of the Cybertruck even longer by using the space from the rear seats as well.

Cybertruck 4 wheel steering in action

You have to pay attention, but you can see how the rear wheels move as well. Cool, cool!

Model Y 4860

Model Y Standard Range with 4680s

Tons of pictures of a Standard Range Made in Austin. The new Standard Range should have an approximate range of 270 miles. For comparison, the previous Standard Range, not with 4680s, had a range of 230 miles. I wonder if this means that a future Long-Range with 4680s can be above 400 miles of range.

Tesla Model Y Standard Range AWD to be priced at $59,990 USD, set to launch in the coming weeks

If the rumors are true, the new Model Y Standard Range AWD will be priced at $59,990, $3,000 cheaper than the Long Range, for roughly 50 miles less of range. What do you think, is it worth the price difference?

Tesla 4680 battery cell structural pack production

I love all these manufacturing videos, thank you Trev!

New Roadster

Tesla opens reservations for Roadster again

Tesla removed the Roadster pre-order page a while ago because of multiple delays. According to Elon, we should expect the Roadster to start production in 2023, hopefully, that is why they re-opened reservations.

🤓 What the acronym?

As Tesla fan I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
