Just a few days ago, Tesla announced its Track Mode V2 for the Performance Model 3. Note that this update is available both for the Performance Model 3 and for the stealth (or “sleeper”) version- which is like the LR AWD but with different software that enables better acceleration.
Tesla has started rolling out Track Mode V2 with the latest software update 2020.8.1 that has just started being rolled out to the fleet today.
Two very attractive new features of Track Mode V2 are the ability to enable full multi-lap telemetry and video recording. In order for these to work, you must create a new folder called ‘TeslaTrackMode’ on your storage drive. Thank you @TesLatino for the reminder!
The ‘TeslaTrackMode’ folder shouldn’t go inside the ‘TeslaCam’ folder but instead it should be created at the same level. The directory tree should look like this:
Not inside TeslaCam. At root of the drive, you should have, normally, a TeslaCam and a TeslaTrackMode directory.

Right after getting the update, Wade Anderson (@wadeanderson) and TeslaRaj recorded this video showing how the Track Mode V2 works. It seems like someone had fun!
