This is part of our 100 issue celebration publication where we pay tribute to the Tesla community by sharing just a few of the stories that brought us all here.
Hi, my name is Megan and I have a Peformance+ Model 3 called Megatron.
The first time I drove a Tesla...
Back when they didn't have anyone ride along with you, they used to just give you a car for an hour or so. My brother, his friend, and I got a Model S P90D. We found a rarely used industrial road, and let it fly. The instant torque and pin-you-to-your-seat power was all I needed. In a mere few seconds, while flying over 80mph, I knew I would own one.
Favorite thing about my car
My favorite thing is my Tesla. Asking my favorite part is like asking my favorite part of Sunsets. The whole experience is the best part.
Least favorite thing about my car
It's not a smidge faster? Or umm... hmmm... it..doesn't... yeah, man, I give up.
I wish my Tesla had...
Convoy Mode. Where you can select the car ahead of you on the screen, and select convoy mode. It will follow the car ahead of you at a proper following distance, though slightly more aggressive than the 1-car length follow setting. If the other car is a Tesla, it would have some unique acknowledgement. Maybe sharing the trip directions from the lead car. Have a quick-dial button, that could conference call the other Teslas in the convoy as well (as long as they are linked in the convoy). The display would show all the Teslas in the convoys car names, and any Non-Tesla would just be a grey car that could be nicknamed, and would still appear as a link in the convoy. The cars would create a sort of neural link that could go endless...each car only needing to car about the one ahead and behind. While being connected to the lead drivers maps. Each car would also have to accept a convoy request, and could also accept the request in ghost mode, so it appears, but isn't connected any other way than convoy follow distancing. The non-Tesla car would just be treated as a ghost car as well. There are all kinds of cool things possible if we could link nearby Teslas.
My favorite accessory
Tesmanian for non-cosmetic accessories
My second favorite accessory
Unplugged Performance for my lowering springs
If I could ask Elon Musk one question, that would be...
Did you get my #chasingsunsets calendar? Ha! I kid. I'd ask him what he feels humanity will accomplish after he's long left this sphere, that he wishes could happen in his lifetime. His true FOMO. (But really... did you get the calendar?)
Why Tesla?
The future relies on change, or it won't succeed...or survive. I can only do so much, but it's one more way I can incorporate my desire to see future generations breathe clean air and know the world will be ok.
