After swapping his AP board a couple of weeks ago, now Greentheonly has replaced his MCU1 with an MCU2. According to his tweets, he only needed the MCU2 (~$1,600 from a junkyard), IC2, and the new tuner; no wiring harness changes were needed. Of course, Greentheonly noticed how MCU2 is much more responsive than MCU1.
This is how Tesla describes the patent application:
“In some embodiments, a glass structure for a vehicle includes an outer layer of glass and an inner layer of glass, wherein the inner layer of glass is perforated by a plurality of holes and wherein the outer layer of glass and the inner layer of glass are separated by a gap disposed between opposing surfaces of the outer layer of glass and the inner layer of glass. The perforations, layers of glass, and gap between the inner and outer layer may further be tuned for desired noise reduction characteristics, insulation properties, visual appearance, and the like.”
Trevor from Tesla Owners Online has released an app to aggregate all the Tesla voice commands, here is a video introducing the app. Trevor is using Glide, which is the same technology that we use to provide a mobile app to our Patrons.
Elon flew to China for the first Model 3 deliveries to public customers but before that he announced the beginning of the Model Y project in China. What we understand is that Tesla is now going to start building the production lines and all the stuff needed to produce Model Y MIC as they do with Model 3s right now.
